We are MSc Graduate Students at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University. This survey is conducted to study the external variables contributing to knowledge creation & sharing using Google Knol, an example of new media technology.

The attached questionnaire surveys participants’ forms the external variables towards perceptions of the usefulness and easeof use of Google Knol as a platform for knowledge creation, sharing , social interaction and consideration as an entertainment alternative.

We would be very grateful if you could participate in this survey. Your participation is voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. This is an anonymous survey, which means that your name and contact particulars are collected only for the purpose of obtaining your consent to participate and will not be attached to your survey response.

Yes, I am a librarian. But, maybe I am a different types of librarian many of you would think and collaborate with. Nur Kasih is what I am always been seeking in this industry. Nur Kasih is a Malay/Arab word, which means:

Nur = Light & Kasih means Care, Love and Passion.

I tossed this word around my mind for the past few days recaps pass few years what has actually happening to my life, career, studies and even friends around me. Dean Ali shows and shares me with this drama Nur Kasih, which can be access at this url: http://www.tv3.com.my/nurkasih/sinopsis.asp.

Nur Kasih is a local Malaysia production, sharing a story of two brothers, Aidil and Adam, who shares an interesting life towards their growing up period. Adam’s life reminds me of (i) why I headed Australia in 2004, (ii) why I returned back to Singapore in 2006, (iii) why I failed in my life in October 2008, and (iv) why i picked up back myself in February 2009.

The reasons is, “I am a librarian, who works and touches people’s life with my online social activities by creating resources that gives their access  to create a social knowledge concierge.”

Useful databases in your subject areas are Business Source Premier, MarketLine, Bloomberg and Factiva.

Besides these electronic resources, you can also visit any of our seven subject libraries to browse and borrow our collection of 624,000 books. Most of the books for your subject area can be found in the Business Library.
